Improving Patient Outcomes is our Mission

At Intronix Technologies, our mission has always been to improve patient outcomes—the way we are doing that is changing, but the intent remains the same. Although our involvement in medical device production is halted, we are still passionate about helping patients receive the best care possible. This article will explain how we plan to continue to help patients, in more ways than one, via our new resources: the Myoguide Academy and the I-Engage Academy.

In the past, we approached this goal unilaterally with the production of our medical device, Myoguide. Myoguide allowed clinicians to provide therapeutic injections with better precision and accuracy. This improved the success of these guided injections, helping to treat patients with spasticity and pain.

Now, we are approaching this goal from both ends, supporting providers and patients through education.

Helping Providers Improve Their Quality of Care

Our new course catalog for healthcare providers, the Myoguide Academy, offers courses that aim to improve injection outcomes. These courses take an anatomical approach, using high-quality images and interactive 3D-models to help providers develop better spatial awareness and injection efficacy.

Currently, the Myoguide Academy offers three Anatomical Atlas courses:

  • Anatomical Atlas of the Head & Neck Related to Neuromodulator Injection and the Management of Spasticity
  • Anatomical Atlas of the Upper Limb Related to Neuromodulator Injection and the Management of Spasticity
  • Anatomical Atlas of the Lower Limb Related to Neuromodulator Injection and the Management of Spasticity

These courses examine muscles in each region that are commonly injected in therapeutic procedures. Along with high quality diagrams, there is essential information about how to find and inject the muscles in relation to surrounding anatomy most effectively.

We have also created a course for providers interested in offering medical aesthetic injections. The course focuses on the anatomical background that is necessary for administering these injections safely and effectively. Knowledge gained from this course will allow learners to continue with other in-person training confidently.

Helping Patients Directly

We recently launched our patient resource page, the I-Engage Academy. This page presents several free resources to support people with chronic pain through skill building and education. On this page, you can find eLearning courses, follow-along videos, and a chronic pain blog.

Each of these resources can help pain patients improve their ability to care for themselves and empower them to become more involved in pain management. We have taken a holistic approach, covering dozens of topics: CBT, nutrition, exercise, self-care, mental health, advocacy, pain literacy, neuroscience, life management, planning, etc.

This page allows us to directly support pain patients in addition to the impact we’ve had for over a decade with Myoguide.

Conclusion

In conclusion, we couldn’t let the pause in Myoguide production stop us from contributing to better patient outcomes. Our Myoguide Academy courses and I-Engage Academy resources will let our mission live on.
