Four Ways to Use the Anatomical Atlas eLearning Series for Therapeutic Injectors

There are many different ways to benefit from our Anatomical Atlas eLearning series. This article will introduce four ways that these dynamic courses can be used: to learn, to reference, to improve, and to illustrate.

These courses are appropriate for beginner to expert neuromodulator injectors, offering a range of possibilities. While the courses do not teach learners how to inject, they offer a wealth of anatomical information related to therapeutic injections to improve precision and efficacy.

The Myoguide Academy currently offers three Anatomical Atlas courses for therapeutic injectors:

  • Anatomical Atlas of the Head & Neck Related to Neuromodulator Injection and the Management of Spasticity
    • Includes access to 3D-Anatomical Head and Neck Model: Martha
  • Anatomical Atlas of the Upper Limb Related to Neuromodulator Injection and the Management of Spasticity
    • Includes access to 3D-Anatomical Arm Model: Francis
  • Anatomical Atlas of the Lower Limb Related to Neuromodulator Injection and the Management of Spasticity
    • Includes access to 3D-Anatomical Leg Model: Lexi

Most lessons in these courses highlight a specific muscle. After describing the muscle in detail with high-quality anatomical diagrams, injection specifications for treating the muscle are shared. This includes needle length, cautions, muscle activation, needle insertion, etc.

While the most obvious way to use these courses is to learn more about therapeutic injections, there are other uses of them, too. We’ve organized these uses into a table.

Use Description Example
To learn Use the Anatomical Atlas series to learn more about therapeutic injections and the management of spasticity.  Read about the importance of injection guidance when performing complicated therapeutic injections. Learn more about how to treat conditions like Focal Hand Dystonia and Cervical Dystonia with neurotoxin injections.
To reference Use the Anatomical Atlas series as a reference before performing a complicated therapeutic injection. Before injecting a difficult muscle, like the Lateral Rectus, reference the associated lesson. Review any concerns about the injection and explore the 3D-anatomical model to visualize surrounding anatomy to help prepare.
To improve  Use the Anatomical Atlas series to help you improve spatial awareness and familiarity of anatomy, thus improving injection efficacy. Read through the lessons about the muscles of the pectoral girdle to gain a better understanding of the considerations involved in injecting this area. Visualize this area and explore it using the 3D-anatomical model of the Upper Limb.
To illustrate Use the Anatomical Atlas series to show patients or colleagues the anatomy involved in a treatment plan. Before performing a series of therapeutic injections on a patient’s leg, show them the anatomy and where you plan to inject using the 3D-anatomical model of the Lower Limb to help explain the approach to treatment.

Conclusion

Our Anatomical Atlas courses are dynamic. Learn, improve, reference, or illustrate with our injection anatomy series.
